Safe setup in 3 steps

Install only from the App Store (id1634811534), Google Play (com.cypherstack.stackwallet) or github.com/cypherstack/stack_wallet releases, as linked from stackwallet.com.
Write the recovery phrase on paper offline and never paste it into a website or support chat.
Test the built-in exchange with a small amount first, and keep the trade details in case the partner holds or refunds the swap.

Can funds be sent out to any address?	Yes. Self-custody sends to any address. source
Swaps and third parties	The built-in exchange uses third-party exchange providers; Stack itself does not perform exchanges. Release notes added Wizardswap (v2.4.3) and Exolix (v2.6.0) and removed MajesticBank (v2.3.1). The provider that receives your deposit holds it until it pays out or refunds. source
Monero and Zcash	XMR: send/receive/exchange ZEC: not supported source
