Best crypto exchanges for trading bots (2026)

Picked by bot and agent support, not by bonuses. Last checked 2026-10-17.

⚠ Risk note. Exchanges can freeze withdrawals, change regional rules or fail; keep only what a bot needs on an exchange. Create API keys with trade-only permission (never withdrawals), IP-whitelist them, start on testnet or demo, and use a sub-account for any AI agent so its losses are capped by what you transfer in. Regional availability changes often: confirm on the exchange's own site before you sign up. Not financial advice.

Our picks

Best for AI agents (safety-first): Kraken

Kraken CLI ships an MCP server that defaults to market data, read-only account and paper trading; live trading and withdrawals are flagged dangerous and need explicit acknowledgment. Serves the US, UK and EU.

Best agent toolkit for derivatives: OKX

The open-source Agent Trade Kit covers spot, perpetuals, options, algo orders and grid bots, with a --read-only flag and demo profile. US users get the narrower OKX US.

Best sub-account isolation: Binance

Binance's MCP puts the agent in a dedicated Agentic sub-account with no withdrawal scope, so losses are capped by what you transfer in. Not for US residents.

Best for US bot traders: Coinbase Advanced

Official MCP with an order-preview dry run before each order. Its sandbox is mocked only, so test with small live size.

Best realistic demo environment: Bybit

Demo Trading uses live prices with simulated funds, and the official MCP has 390+ tools. Not available to US residents, and UK accounts become withdrawal-only from Oct 21 2026.

Best on-chain perps for bots: Hyperliquid

Fully on-chain order book with a public testnet and agent keys that cannot withdraw. Restricted for US and Ontario persons; no first-party MCP.

Best full sandbox: Gemini

Full-function sandbox with test funds and an open-source MCP server. US, UK and EU.
