Worst case: HTX's operator is under UK and EU sanctions: coins held on HTX, or sent from it, can be frozen by token issuers or held by other exchanges' compliance checks, and people in the UK and EU are barred from dealing with it.
Safe setup in 3 steps
- If you are in the UK or EU, do not open or fund an HTX account: dealing with it is prohibited under UK sanctions and, since 2026-08-23, under EU measures
- Expect that coins withdrawn from HTX may be held or rejected by other exchanges and by stablecoin or token issuers' sanctions screening
- Give any bot key only Read and Trade permissions with Withdraw off, and bind it to your server's IP
