Is Bitstamp safe to connect?
Exchange ยท Centralized spot exchange (Bitstamp by Robinhood). Checked 2026-10-25; every line links its source.
Worst case: Bitstamp holds your coins; US accounts lose trading on 2027-02-01, and EU deposits from third-party self-hosted wallets over EUR 1,000 are reportedly rejected and sit until support returns them.
Safe setup in 3 steps
- Do not trust any 'Bitstamp' X account: @Bitstamp no longer exists, so use bitstamp.net and in-app support only
- Give bot keys only balance and trading permissions, set the IP Address Filter, and never enable crypto withdrawals on a shared key
- US users: transfer to Robinhood or withdraw before 2027-02-01; EU users: deposit only from your own verified wallet or another exchange
