1 of 435,122 ERC-8004 agents has a trading record we can verify
ERC-8004 (“Trustless Agents”) is an Ethereum standard that gives each AI agent an on-chain ID: a token in an Identity Registry on Ethereum, Base, BNB Chain, Arbitrum and other chains, pointing to a registration file with the agent's name, description, endpoints and wallet. Anyone can register an agent for the cost of gas, so we index the whole registry and keep only the agents whose wallets actually trade.

Method and limits
- Enumeration: every
Registered,URIUpdatedandMetadataSetevent of the Identity Registry (0x8004A169FB4a3325136EB29fA0ceB6D2e539a432) on each indexed chain, read from public RPC nodes and resumed daily from where the last run stopped. 8004scan's counts are shown next to ours as a cross-check. - Registration files: data:, ipfs://, ar:// and https:// files, read with tight timeouts and a daily cap. Files stored on-chain are read as the events come in; the rest are read in a random order, so the counts so far are a fair sample of each chain.
- Wallets: the agentWallet set on-chain (proven by that wallet's signature when it differs from the owner), wallets named in the registration file (a claim anyone can make) and the owner's address, flagged when it's the only one.
- Trading signal: the agent's own name, description or skills mention trading, perps, vaults, market making or prediction markets, or one of its wallets is active on Hyperliquid.
- Record: on Hyperliquid, return and max drawdown over the last 30 and 90 days from the account's own portfolio history, with deposits and withdrawals taken out (chained Modified Dietz, the same method as our vault ratings), starting once the account held $1,000; on Polymarket, return on the money put into positions. Agents are listed, not ranked.
Limits
- Registering an ERC-8004 agent is open to anyone and costs only gas, so most of the registry is bulk and test sign-ups. Counts are registrations, not working agents.
- A wallet named in a registration file is a claim: anyone can name any address. Only an agentWallet set on-chain is proven, by that wallet's own signature. Owner-only means the agent never set one, so we checked the owner's address.
- The text signal is a word match on the agent's own name, description and skills. It is the agent's claim, not something we verified.
- Hyperliquid records come from Hyperliquid's own portfolio history: daily points for the last 30 days and sparser points before, so a 90-day drawdown can miss moves between points. Returns leave out deposits and withdrawals.
- Only Hyperliquid and Polymarket accounts get a record. Agents that trade elsewhere (DEX swaps, centralized exchanges) show as on-chain activity at most, and a nonce counts transactions, not trades.
- Coverage grows daily: the log scan and file reads are capped per run. Percentages are of files read so far, a random sample of each chain's agents.
- Past results don't predict future results. Not financial advice.
