Since July 28, 2026, Interactive Brokers' AI Integration works with any MCP-compatible tool, not just the certified ChatGPT, Claude and Grok marketplaces. IBKR names Claude Code, Cursor, Perplexity and Windsurf as examples. Everything below comes from IBKR's announcement; client-side commands come from each client's own docs.

The connector URL

IBKR's steps for any non-marketplace tool: open the tool's "add MCP server" or "custom connector" setting, enter the URL, log in through Interactive Brokers' secure screen, and authorize access for a single account.

ChatGPT, Claude or Grok

Use the certified Interactive Brokers connector in each platform's connector marketplace and link your account there.

Claude Code

Claude Code's standard command for a remote HTTP server (Claude Code MCP docs):

Then run /mcp in Claude Code, pick ibkr, and complete the IBKR login.

Cursor

Add a remote MCP server in Cursor's MCP settings, or in .cursor/mcp.json (Cursor MCP docs):

Cursor opens the IBKR login when the server first connects.

What the AI can do

Analyze portfolios, research investments, monitor risk, and draft trade instructions in natural language.
No direct order submission in this release. You review each drafted instruction and convert it to an order on an IBKR platform yourself.
Works across Client Portal, IBKR Desktop, IBKR GlobalTrader, IBKR Mobile and Trader Workstation. IBKR says Gemini support is coming soon.
