# Is Moonshot safe to connect?

**Worst case:** Your Moonshot wallet's secret phrase can be exported, and anyone who gets it, or gets into your Moonshot account, can drain the wallet. Card cash-outs also depend on third-party off-ramp providers that may require ID checks.

## Safe setup in 3 steps

1. Install Moonshot only from the official app stores via links from moonshot.com or support.moonshot.com, and ignore 'Moonshot voting' or 'listing' sites that ask you to connect a wallet

2. Export the secret phrase only to back it up offline, and never type it into any site, bot or 'support' chat

3. Keep memecoin money in Moonshot separate from savings, and withdraw profits to a wallet you control
