# Is GMGN safe to connect?

**Worst case:** GMGN's generated wallets are controlled by GMGN and their keys can't be exported, so your funds depend on GMGN's systems and your login. A stolen session, a phishing signature, or a GMGN failure or lock could cost you the whole balance.

## Safe setup in 3 steps

1. Type gmgn.ai yourself or use a bookmark; never follow 'GMGN' links from token sites, ads or DMs

2. Turn on Google Authenticator and whitelist a withdrawal address you control before you deposit

3. Keep only trading funds in GMGN-generated wallets, since their keys can't be exported; for larger amounts connect your own wallet
